The Department of Paediatrics is a world renowned centre of clinical excellence and research specialising in genetics and pathophysiology of diabetes and its complications; the determinants of birth size and infant growth and how they relate to risk for adult disease; epigenetics and mucosal immunology, the pathophysiology of multi-organ failure in critical illness and the genetics and hormonal control of human sex development.

Application forms will be assessed by the Paediatrician responsible for the appropriate area, and if deemed acceptable the applicant will be asked to complete an application for an Honorary Contract with £400 processing fee payable to the NHS Trust. They will need to attend Medical Staffing on the first day of the observer ship and complete relevant forms /assessments for Occupational Health. This may include both blood tests and vaccination. A minimum of 8 weeks is required to complete the necessary approvals for the NHS and University.
