Please join us on Zoom for our next Pint of Paediatric Science (POPS) meeting on  Tuesday 9th February 18:00 – 19:30. We are delighted to host Dr. Tamsin Holland Brown.

Topic: 1:  The joy and agony of realising patient management needs to change and research is the way forward: “Define success on your own terms, achieve it by your own rules and build a life you are proud to live” (Anne Sweeney)

Topic 2: “How to do research in the NHS without protected research time” (Dr Tamsin Holland Brown)

Dr. Tamsin Holland Brown is a Consultant in Community Paediatrics. Her research focuses on improving the hearing of children with Glue Ear. She has developed affordable, effective devices to support hearing, and paired them with apps that empower families to support their children’s development. Her work has won numerous awards and accolades. Tamsin is now an NHS Clinical Entrepreneur and was awarded a British Empire Medal in the New Year Queen’s Honours. Most of this award-winning research has been developed by Tamsin without dedicated research time.

These meetings are designed to encourage all Paediatric trainees as well as medical students, foundation trainees, clinical academics and senior clinicians to network, engage and help bridge the gap between clinical work and academia. They should also help in giving you ideas towards CV-building and considering other avenues within your vocation.

Please email the PPOS Team to request the Zoom joining link, it will be a fabulous evening. Please bring your own beer and dinner. Rowdy toddlers optional. Looking forward to seeing you all soon,

Lizzie, Thiloka, Asma and Alisha (Pint of Paediatric Science team, paedpintofscience@gmail.com)
