Paediatric Pint of Science – 24 June
June 24 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
We are pleased to announce that the Paediatric Pint of Science meetings will be resuming on Zoom, please bring your own drinks! We have listened to your feedback and will continue running a series of ‘How to..’ events. These have proven useful and interesting to non-academics and clinical academics alike!
Our first zoom meeting will be held on Wednesday 24th June 2020, from 5.30pm. We are delighted that Dr Kai Hensel will continue to help lead these sessions from Germany. He will be presenting a ‘How to’ on Creating and Presenting Conference Posters, with Dr Amedine Duret – an academic foundation trainee at Imperial. Amedine designed new tools to examine the neonatal red reflex with Ms. Allen while she was a medical student in Cambridge. This is now being tested in an international clinical trial and demonstrates how carefully designed short-term projects can have a significant clinical impact.
These meetings are designed to encourage all Paediatric trainees as well as medical students, foundation trainees, clinical academics and senior clinicians to network, engage and help bridge the gap between clinical work and academia. They should also help in giving you ideas towards CV-building and considering other avenues within your vocation.
Join us on the 24th to learn how to ace poster presenting, and how to use modern technology to improve neonatal red reflex screening.
