A whole day seminar targeted at Neonatal Grid and Neonatal SPIN paediatric trainees, delivering challenging but necessary communication skills training at a level appropriate to a very senior group of learners who will often use these skills in their future professional roles.
Every candidate will undertake a realistic face-to-face bereavement scenario with 2 actors, supported by expert faculty in each small group. This is the gold standard for building experience and expertise in breaking the worst news of all, in a safe learning environment.
The plenary sessions will deliver the specific knowledge, skills and attitudes to effectively communicate with bereaved families:
The course will be delivered in the beautiful setting of Churchill College, in one of Cambridge’s finest conference settings, with plenty of parking! The faculty bring tertiary neonatal expertise; cutting-edge communication skills teaching know how; and vast experience with the delivery of the knowledge necessary to underpin communication in this challenging field.
The previous three iterations of the CU/CKF Bereavement Seminar received stellar feedback, and we aim to make this neonatal-focused seminar the gold standard for national neonatal training. It’s a tough and emotional day, but the practitioner well-being session will help to rebuild everybody present – and the lunch will be tremendous.
Only 15 places are available for candidates at this seminar, so please register as soon as possible to secure your place.
