Our PURE abstract has been published in the latest issue of Archives of Diseases in Childhood; and is now available on Pubmed and other indices..
This abstract was presented by 2022-23 PURE Paediatric Educator, Dr Ankur Sharma at the RCPCH conference in May 2023. Ankur was supported by members of our faculty and encouraged to apply for the conference as part of his commitment to the programme. Ankur attended the conference with Dr Alex Brightwell, PURE Faculty founding member and Child Health Lead at UEA, and Dr Philip Adedokun, who was a PURE Paediatric Educator during our pilot launch in 2021-22 and has been acting as a mentor for the second cohort of trainees.

The PURE programme is a collaborative project, which was established in January 2021, between Health Education East of England (HEE), the University of Cambridge, Anglia Ruskin University and the University of East Anglia. PURE aims to improve the quality of Paediatric teaching across the region, by recruiting trainees to deliver bedside teaching students to medical students during their trust placements.
There are lots of benefits which come with being part of this ever growing and expanding programme. To find out more about PURE and apply to teach – if you’re an East of England Paediatric Trainee – please visit: https://paediatrics.medschl.cam.ac.uk/pure-programme/
Starting from this year (2023/24) we are welcoming applicants from all trusts in the region which host Cambridge, UEA and ARU students.
